Your wedding day deserves to be remembered exactly as it felt, full of connection, real emotion, and those fleeting little moments that make your story unique. My approach to wedding photography is all about honoring the rhythm of your day while bringing out the beauty, joy, and intimacy that make your relationship.

Your gallery isn’t just a collection of images; it’s the feeling of your favorite day, preserved in a way that feels timeless and true to you.

I believe in blending editorial insight with documentary intuition so every detail finds its place in your final collection. From the first look to the last dance, I’m there to document the authentic story, not to interrupt your celebration, but to elevate it.

“If Carol is available for your wedding you have to snatch her up!”

“As the bride and groom, you spend the majority of your day with your photographer and I wanted to make sure I was with someone who has great energy. She was so fun to work with and captured absolutely stunning photos. Carol was the best about thinking of every little detail and keeping us on pace. She has a beautiful style where she frames the photo with natural objects that made me fall in love with her portfolio. My husband and I are not the most natural in front of a camera and her photos made us look like pros. We got several sneak peek photos the day after and I received so many complements. If Carol is available for your wedding you have to snatch her up—she’s truly the best!”

IT’S YOUR STORY

how do you want to tell it?

I believe your photographs should look like you. That’s why my editing stays true to life, natural tones, authentic color, and classic contrast that feels timeless, not trendy.

Because your experience matters just as much as the final gallery, I keep your day flowing naturally. No endless posing, no forced smiles. I’ll guide you when it’s helpful, and fade into the background when it’s not. The magic often lives in the in-between moments, and I never miss them.

If you’re looking for an inclusive Washington DC wedding photographer who creates a space where you feel comfortable and celebrated, I’d be honored to tell your story.

You live it. I’ll document it with intention.

“Carol is fantastic!”

CHOOSE YOUR JOURNEY

WHERE I SHOOT

& who I serve

As a photographer based between the Washington, D.C. & KMC Germany area, I regularly travel for weddings both locally and across the United States and Europe. Over the years, I’ve been honored to photograph celebrations in places like D.C., Virginia, Maryland, Nevada, Germany, Greece, Paris, and beyond, bringing an editorial, true-to-color style that feels luminous and effortless.

I love working with couples who care about connection more than perfection and want their wedding images to reflect authentic moments rather than overly posed portraits. My objective is to capture your celebration with warmth, depth, and honesty.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Wedding photography in Washington DC and Northern Virginia typically ranges anywhere from 4,000 to 8,000+ depending on experience, coverage hours, and what’s included.

My collections are built to cover the full story of your day, not just the highlight reel. Most DC couples invest between 4,500 and 7,000 for full wedding day coverage with me.

If you’re planning a multi-location day in DC, portraits at the National Mall, or a larger Northern Virginia venue, I’ll help you choose coverage that actually makes sense instead of overbooking hours you don’t need.

  • No. Travel within Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and the surrounding DMV area is already included in my wedding collections.

You won’t see surprise line items for gas, parking, or “city fees.” If your wedding day includes multiple locations within DC or NOVA, that’s normal here and already accounted for in my pricing.

  • DC and Northern Virginia are competitive markets. Popular spring and fall dates book 12–18 months in advance.

If you’re getting married at a well-known DC venue or during peak cherry blossom season, earlier is always better.

If your date is coming up soon, still reach out. I occasionally have weekday or off-season availability.

  • Yes. I regularly photograph weddings throughout Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland.

From city venues near the Capitol to historic estates in Virginia, I’m very familiar with navigating traffic, permits, timelines, and lighting at all of it.

If you’re splitting your day between DC and NOVA, that’s normal here. I plan for that.

  • Yes. I regularly photograph weddings throughout the DMV and travel for destination weddings as well.

Whether you’re planning a Virginia countryside celebration or something overseas, I’m very comfortable working across locations and time zones.

  • There’s a good chance I have, but even if I haven’t, that’s never a problem.

I always arrive early, location scout, and build a lighting plan for your specific space. A strong Washington DC wedding photographer should know how to adapt quickly whether it’s a ballroom, rooftop, church, or garden estate.

Every venue has good light. It just takes knowing how to find it.

  • Most of my wedding collections include an engagement session.

Engagement sessions are especially helpful in DC because we can plan around popular locations like the National Mall, Georgetown, or Northern Virginia gardens.

It also gives you time to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day.

  • You’ll receive a preview gallery shortly after your wedding. Full galleries are delivered within the timeframe outlined in your contract, typically within several weeks.

I focus on quality and consistency. Every image is edited individually to maintain true-to-color tones and cohesive storytelling.

  • Absolutely. This is one of the biggest parts of my job.

I help build a realistic timeline that protects your portraits, keeps family photos efficient, and makes sure you’re not rushed. DC wedding days often involve travel between ceremony and reception locations, so buffer time is everything.

You don’t need to know how long photos take. That’s my lane.

  • Most couples need 6 to 8 hours of coverage.

If you’re getting ready in one location, marrying in another, and hosting a full reception, 8 hours is usually ideal.

If everything is happening in one place or you’re planning a smaller celebration, 6 hours can absolutely work. I’ll walk you through what makes sense based on your specific plans.

  • Once you decide to move forward, I’ll send a proposal with your contract and retainer invoice.

Your date is secured once both are completed. After that, we start planning timelines, engagement sessions, and all the details that make your wedding photography seamless.

    Simple. Organized. No chaos.

  • Yes, and for larger Northern Virginia weddings or guest counts over 125, I strongly recommend it.

A second photographer allows us to capture multiple angles, cocktail hour candids, and both partners getting ready simultaneously.

It adds depth to your gallery without feeling overproduced.

  • My style is timeless, true to color, and energetic without being overly posed.

I focus on natural movement, clean composition, and real emotion. You won’t get heavy filters or trendy edits that look dated in five years.

Think classic DC architecture meets genuine moments. Structured when needed. Relaxed when it matters.

  • Yes. I offer 35mm film and 8mm video as add-ons for couples who love that nostalgic texture.

Film adds a softness and depth that digital can’t fully replicate. It pairs beautifully with DC’s historic architecture and Northern Virginia estates.

If you want that old-timey, cinematic feel layered into your wedding gallery, we can absolutely build that in.

  • We adjust. Calmly.

Rain in Washington DC is common, especially in spring and fall. I always identify covered portrait locations and indoor backup spots in advance.

Some of the most romantic images happen in light rain. Clear umbrellas exist for a reason.

  • Yes. I have extensive experience working with military families and couples navigating demanding schedules.

I understand last-minute adjustments, travel constraints, and the need for flexibility.

Clear communication and structure matter. I build that into every wedding I photograph.
