Welcome to Dcorzo! My name is Carol - I am a fine art portrait and wedding photographer. Based in the DC area - available to travel anywhere and I would love to capture your moments! I believe that if you’re going to do anything, you should do it with passion. And I am so passionate about my work. I really pour my heart into providing high-quality, authentic and creative images. And while I’m not always “on duty” there is always a camera in my hand.

My photography vibe is luminous, luxurious, and energetic. There are many things I love like books, lattes, and my truck-car, but there is nothing I love more than traveling. I have a deep appreciation for architecture and art, and especially enjoy using these two elements to help guide my final images. I shoot true to the moment - as I also edit true to color. I truly believe you curated this moment, you created this moment, you love this - I want you to remember it as it was. Your final gallery will tell your story. It will be a great mixture of posed images, candids, details, and landscape shots. Whether a wedding day or a family session - telling your story with all the possible details is what I’m here for.
I have had a camera in my hands since I was a child, and I don’t feel right without one. I smile while editing final galleries, and get excited every time I share a final gallery with my clients. From personal experience, I can tell you that your photographs are likely what you will cherish the most in your life. They are a magical tool that can transport us to the past and make us feel happy & sad. Trusting someone with your memories is a huge deal, so I’ll treat and document your special moments like I would my own.

I was born in Bogota, Colombia. Grew up in The Bay and Las Vegas. Moved to Tampa and currently reside in the Washington DC Maryland area. See?
I have an excellent sense of direction and hardly get lost.
I wear one color almost exclusively; black.
But I LOVE colorful shoes.
My music library makes no sense to anyone but me.

About the Dcorzo Name
“De-k-OH-r-s-oh”
The best I could find on how to pronounce it without being in front of you. This was the original version of my maiden name, and what I decided to name my company. Our family was given this name in Colombia, and eventually dropped the “D.”
The funny thing is…
The story goes that my great-great grandfather had immigrated to Colombia from Italy, and to fit in more in Colombia had dropped the D. Our family stayed and my parents and their children immigrated to the US. But we thought “wow, let’s try to keep the original name alive.” Fast forward a few years, after this wonderful technology in the world, I decided to have a heritage test and it turns out I am exactly o.o3% Italian. So I have either named my entire company after a fictional elaborate story, or someone in my family has a deep secret that hasn’t been told. Either way, it’s a very interesting thing to think about!
