Burg Lichtenberg Mini Sessions

If you've been looking for that "I can't believe this is in Germany" kind of location, Burg Lichtenberg is it.

As one of the largest castle ruins in Germany, it's full of character at every turn. Towering stone walls, arched walkways, historic courtyards, winding pathways, and incredible views make this one of my favorite places to photograph.

For these mini sessions, we'll explore the castle together, stopping at some of my favorite spots throughout the grounds. The castle offers a great mix of architecture, history, and open views, so your gallery will have plenty of variety without ever leaving the property.

After your session, I highly recommend sticking around for a bit. Explore the rest of the castle, climb the towers, or grab dinner and a drink at the restaurant. It's one of my favorite places to spend an evening in the KMC area.

These sessions are perfect for couples, families, maternity, graduates, or anyone looking for photos that feel a little different than your typical park session. If you love European architecture and historic locations, you'll love this one.

What to Wear

The best part about photographing at Burg Lichtenberg? The castle does most of the work for us.

The stone walls, archways, and historic details create such a beautiful backdrop that you don't need a complicated outfit to make your photos stand out. My biggest piece of advice is to keep it classic. Think neutrals, earthy tones, soft blues, greens, creams, browns, or even black if that's more your style. These colors photograph beautifully against the castle without distracting from you.

If you're coming as a family, don't stress about everyone matching perfectly. Coordinating colors always looks better than identical outfits. Pick a color palette, mix in a few textures, and you're good to go.

Graduates, definitely bring your cap, gown, cords, medals, champagne & whatever makes your accomplishment feel like yours. Couples, this is one of those locations where dressing up just makes sense. You don't have to go full black tie, but a flowy dress or a nice button-down fits the setting perfectly.

What to Expect During Your Session

Mini sessions at Burg Lichtenberg are designed to be relaxed, easy, and efficient. We'll spend about 20 minutes exploring some of my favorite spots inside the castle walls, including historic stone archways, winding pathways, open courtyards, and the incredible architecture that makes this location so unique.

Don't worry if you've never had professional photos taken before. I'll guide you through everything, I’ll even tell you what to do with your hands. My goal is for your gallery to look polished without feeling overly posed.

This location works beautifully for families, couples, maternity, graduation portraits, and even updated headshots. The neutral stone walls and historic details photograph beautifully in every season, making it one of those rare locations that never really goes out of style.

Comfortable shoes are highly recommended since we'll be walking on uneven stone paths and climbing a few stairs throughout the session. You can always change into dress shoes once we arrive at our first photo location if you'd like.
