If you've been dreaming of photos at one of the most iconic castles in Germany, Burg Eltz absolutely lives up to the hype.
Tucked away in the middle of the forest, this castle looks like something straight out of a storybook. Between the stone bridges, winding trails, lush trees, and the castle itself, every direction gives us a completely different backdrop. It's easily one of my favorite places to photograph, and no matter how many times I visit, it never gets old.
For these mini sessions, we'll explore some of my favorite spots around the castle, from the famous overlook to the bridges, forest paths, and hidden corners that make Burg Eltz so special. You'll end up with a gallery that feels like you traveled back in time, without spending hours hiking or wandering around.
After your session, don't rush back to the parking lot. Tour the inside of the castle, grab lunch or a coffee, browse the gift shop, or simply take your time soaking it all in. Burg Eltz is one of those places that's worth making a day out of, and I promise you'll be glad you did.

What Do We Wear?
Burg Eltz is surrounded by lush forest, stone architecture, and some of the prettiest scenery you'll find in Germany, so your outfit doesn't have to compete with it.
Soft neutrals, earthy tones, blues, greens, creams, and warm browns always photograph beautifully here. If you're unsure, keep it simple and timeless. The goal is for people to notice you first, not your outfit.
Families should coordinate colors instead of matching exactly. Different textures, layers, and complementary colors always photograph better than everyone wearing the same thing.
You'll definitely want comfortable shoes for the walk to and from the castle. Even if you're planning on wearing heels or dress shoes for photos, bring a pair of sneakers for the hike and change once we arrive. Your feet will be much happier.
And one last thing, Burg Eltz is in the forest, so bug spray isn't a bad idea during the summer months. It's a small thing that can make a big difference.

What to Expect During Your Session
Mini sessions at Burg Eltz are all about making the most of one of the most beautiful locations in Germany.
We'll spend about 25 minutes exploring a few of my favorite spots around the castle, stopping along the way for a mix of guided portraits and the candid moments that usually end up being everyone's favorites. Don't worry if you've never had professional photos taken before, I'll direct you the entire time, so nothing ever feels awkward.
One thing to know about Burg Eltz: there's still a bit of walking involved during your session. We'll be on paved and gravel paths with a few hills, so comfortable shoes are definitely your friend. If you're planning to wear heels or dress shoes, I recommend bringing a pair of sneakers for the walk and changing once we meet.
Because Burg Eltz is one of Germany's most popular castles, I schedule these sessions during quieter times whenever possible. Fewer crowds mean more room to explore, a more relaxed experience, and photos that look like you had this incredible place all to yourselves. But if we do have company from strangers, don’t worry ;) They will magically disappear from all your photos.
